Learn to Meditate Classes at Ananda

Meditation is natural and deeply rewarding. It offers a direct and intuitive perception of higher states of consciousness such as inner peace, love, vitality, creativity and joy. Its time-tested benefits have been corroborated by modern scientific testing.

What you’ll learn in these classes is the heart of an ancient tradition that has been passed down from teacher to student for thousands of years. Our instructors are either life-long meditators themselves, who have helped thousands learn to meditate over the past 40+ years, or they are graduates from the Ananda Meditation Teacher Training program, steeped in their own practice and ready to help others learn meditation. These classes are open to all. There is no expectation or requirement for membership at Ananda.

We offer classes both in Seattle and on the east side in Bothell.

 

Learn to Meditate Level 1: Inner Peace through Relaxation and Concentration

(Seattle & Bothell)

Meditation can transform your life. Learn to relax your body, quiet your mind, awaken intuition and experience greater joy and creativity in daily life. This 3-session course includes in-class practice, tips on establishing your practice at home, online guided meditations, written instructions, unlimited (no-charge) re-take policy, and ongoing support in-person or online.

In this class you will learn:

  • How to use simple stretches and breath-control techniques to release tension and relax the body.
  • How to concentrate the mind.
  • How to use imagery, affirmation, and chanting to be calm and peaceful.

Meditation has been scientifically proven to be beneficial to the health of body, mind and spirit. Meditation is for everyone and requires no outward affiliation or belief system.

Learn to Meditate Level 2: Quieting the Mind Through Breath Control

(Seattle & Bothell)

Learn and practice time-tested breath techniques (“pranayama”) to help calm the “monkey” mind and deepen our experience of meditation.

Levels 2, 3 and 4 classes are designed for those with Level 1 or equivalent training and can be taken in any order.

 

Learn to Meditate Level 3: Opening the Heart Through the Chakras

Chanting at the chakras (subtle energy centers) and using yogic bandhas (locks) can open the door to the unconditional love and wisdom of your higher Self.

Designed for those with Level 1 or equivalent training.

 

Learn to Meditate Level 4: Awaken to Superconsciousness

Level 4 of the Meditation series expands and integrates Levels 1 – 3 into a greater understanding of the process of spiritual awakening and the higher stages of meditation. Subjects include: levels of consciousness, energy, magnetism, chanting, prayer, affirmation, 8-Fold Path and meditation.
